Nigerian Army commissions dog center

The Nigerian Army has stepped up its efforts to curb the series of terrorist attacks in the country, with the commissioning of a dog center in Ipaja area of Lagos state.

The dogs are to assist officers in explosives and narcotics detection, tracking and guard duties.

And to ensure the effective use of the acquired dogs, 40 officers and soldiers of the Nigerian army have been trained on dog handling techniques in some of the best canine institutes in the world.

While another batch of 25 are currently undergoing training in the United States.
