The abducted wife of former military Governor of old western region, Brigader General Oluwole Rotimi (RTD), Mrs Titilayo Rotimi, who was abducted by unknown gunmen two weeks ago, has been released.
Mrs. Rotimi was said to have been found along the Lagos-Ijebu Ode Cross Road, near Ikorodu, Lagos State.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ayodele Lanade, the Oyo State Police Command got the signal that she was found between the boundary of Lagos and Ogun states.
Lanade, who spoke to journalists on the telephone, said “we learnt that she became conscious shortly after been released by her captors.”
Efforts made to get comments from members of her family were unsuccessful as the family compound was deserted with only a few domestic staff sighted.
Her Ikolaba residence remained under lock and key as at the time of filling this report
Mrs Rotimi was kidnapped in front of her office, Oak Enterprise in Ibadan 12 days.
It was however unclear whether her abductors demanded ransom for her release or whether the family paid or declined before she was released.
