The Edo state governor had at a national summit on security in Abuja on Thursday, he called for the sack of the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for alleged complacency in unraveling the murder of  late Mr Oyerinde.

Mr Oshiomhole, who was speaking on Thursday in Abuja during the launch of the new Code of Conduct for the Nigerian police, alleged that both the assassin and the weapon used to murder the late Oyerinde were in police detention as at the time the assassination was carried out.

Mr Mohammed, at a meeting with senior officers of the force in Abuja on Friday, stated the police authority will reply the Edo state governor appropriately.

He however warned all senior police officers including Commissioners of police to ensure that the newly introduced Code of Conduct for officers of the Nigerian Police force is strictly complied with.
