Lawmaker Decries FG’s Stance Against Corruption

A member of the House of Representatives, Representative Nkem Abonta has decried the federal government’s stance on fighting corruption, saying; Nigeria is not fighting corruption.

The lawmaker challenged President Goodluck Jonathan to commence the war against corruption decisively.

The deputy chairman of the House Committee on Privatization and Commercialization who was speaking this weekend said  Nigeria must learn from Asian countries like China, that have taken decisive action to check the problem of corruption.

He said the fight against corruption must involve making the nation’s laws more effective and focusing on the civil service which he identified as a very corrupt institution.
