Akure, the capital of Ondo state was in a celebratory mood on Sunday as the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko was sworn-in for a second term .
The Abia state governor, Theodore Orji, Acting Governor of Taraba state; Tanko Almakura, Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi and the Anambra state governor, Peter Obi were in attendance as well as the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade.
Former governors Ayo Fayose and Alao Akala were also present.
Dr Mimiko promised that there will be a synergy between government and the people.
The governor was re-elected for another term during the October 21 Ondo governorship election when the Labour Party candidate defeated the other aspirants by polling 260,199 of the total valid votes, claiming a landslide victory in 12 Local Government Areas (LGAs) out of the 15 LGAs in the state.
