Nigerian Universities Are Inadequate, Dilapidated and Overcrowded – Mahmud Yakubu

The former executive secretary of Tertiary Education Tax Fund, Prof Mahmud Yakubu has said the facilities in our universities are inadequate, dilapidated and overstretched.

Prof. Mahmud made these remarks while speaking at the 30th anniversary of the Olabisi Onabanjo University which is tagged Nigerian Tertiary Education In Crisis “The way forward”.

The professor said physical facilities for teaching and learning in Nigerian universities are inadequate, he further explained that many lecturers including professors share small offices.

He also stated that most universities are dilapidated with poorly ventilated and over- crowed classrooms.

Mahmud noted that the state of the poor facilities of the universities has been brought to the notice of the government.
