Addressing participants at a forum in Abuja organised by the directorate of civil-military relations of the Defence Headquarters, Mr Omeri says the people need to support the nation’s military in order for them to effectively discharge their constitutional duties. He also stressed the need for a shift in emphasis from peacekeeping to peacebuilding.
On his part, the Director of civil-military relations, Major General Mohammed Ibrahim pledged the support of the military to the nation’s democracy, saying the Nigerian Armed forces belong to the people.
