Coach Obuh Says Team Fought Hard

John Obuh; the coach of the U-20 Flying Eagles has stood up in defence of his team saying the team put up a good fight but unfortunately they crashed out of the World cup tournament taking place in Turkey.

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria were beaten by Uruguay on Tuesday night 1-2.

Obuh said despite being a man down, the team demonstrated a strong performance noting that matches have been won and lost as he and the team accepted defeat in this instance in good faith.

Obuh hinted that the nest coach will take it up where he stopped but the aim of the squad was not to exit the tournament at the early stage.

Obuh said further that Nigeria is blessed with football talents as it is a football nation.

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Aminu Maigari commended the fighting spirit of the team, urging them not to allow this setback affect the bright future that awaits them.

Nicolas Lopez slotted home the winner after goalkeeper Samuel Okani left his domain to cover a move  from the left flank after a free kick was allotted to Uruguay.
