The Rivers state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has no plan to recall suspended Governor Chibuike Amaechi to the party.

The chairman of the party in the state, Mr. Felix Obua, who led other party leaders in the state to a closed-door meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan, stated this at the Presidential villa.

Expressing satisfaction with the President’s support for the state PDP leadership, Mr. Obua explained that their mission at the villa was to give the president their support.

The PDP is currently polarised in Rivers state, with a section of the party in support of Governor Amaechi while the other section is loyal to the Minister of state for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, who is considered as an emerging political leader in the state.
