The chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Special National Convention Committee, Prof. Jerry Gana has announced a shift in date of its forthcoming convention owing to it coinciding with the Ramadan fasting period.
The convention, earlier slated for July 15th has been shifted to August 31st.
Gana, who made the announcement, also assured party members that the forthcoming convention will be conducted in “a fair and transparent manner’’.
The chairman said the committee is awaiting the report of the party’s legal team on the position of the letter written by the former national secretary of the party, Mr. Olagunsoye Oyinlola, asking that the position of national secretary should not be open for election as he has a case pending in court challenging his removal.
