FEC Approves Contract For South South–North East Link Road

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the contract for the rehabilitation of the Calabar-Ugep-Ogoja-Katsina Ala Road.

The Minister of State for Works, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda told State House Correspondents after the council meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, that the contract was awarded in 2009 to address the deteriorating state of the road.

He said the road which has been extended to cover the extension that was not covered in the initial contract will have an extra cost of N2.9 million.

The road is said to be very important as the only link between south- south and the north eastern part of the country.
