
Speaking at a press briefing in the National Assembly, the lawmaker was reacting to media reports that some lawmakers from the new faction of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)are considering moving a motion of impeachment against the president.
The spokesman of the House was however clear that the PDP stood the risk of losing its grip on majority in the chamber, as it wouldn’t be difficult getting a vote to that effect as the combined number of APC and New PDP members will clearly carry any motion raised in the House.
Mohammed said if the PDP fails to reach a reconciliatory agreement with the aggrieved members of the ‘New PDP’ after Sunday’s scheduled meeting, the repercussion could even extend outside the National Assembly.
