The state has experienced several cases of violent attacks by the Omabtse group, in recent times.
Recently, a former chairman of Keana local government council in the state, Jibrin Keana, confirmed the severity of the an attack in Spetember, which led to the loss of many lives and property in the Northern state.
Mr Keana told Channels Television that several school children were ‘slaughtered like goats’ in an attack on Assakio community by the Ombatse group.
However, intelligence report of possible security risk emerged yesterday prompting the deployment of military and police operatives across the state.
The state commissioner of police, Mr Shehu Umar, said that the successful Eid-el Kabir ceremony was as a result of the adequate security arrangement put in place to curtail any crisis.
In his Sallah message to the people, Governor Tanko Al-Makura said in light of the state’s security challenge, the need for sacrifice in the spirit of Eid-el Kabir could restore peace to the state and Nigeria at large.
Some Muslim faithful who spoke to Channels Television said that the Eid-el Kabir celebration is important for nation building, as the practice of sacrifice could foster peace and unity.
