NHIS Shuts Down Hospital

The National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, has warned health management organisations to abide by the terms of providing health services under the health insurance scheme, or risk being shut down.

The Acting General Manager, standard and quality of NHIS, Doctor Kabiru Mustapha gave the warning in Karu while handing over a suspension letter to First Hospital, located in a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory.

Doctor Mustapha explained that the suspension follows an investigation and series of warnings given to the hospital as early as April this year.

He announced that the suspension takes effect from the 1st of November.
