More reactions have been trailing the November 16 governorship election in Anambra state which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared inconclusive.

While the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Willie Obiano, commends the credibility of the election and the enthusiasm of the people of the state to vote the candidate of their choice, his counterpart in the Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA) Godwin Ezeemo accepts the result as collated by INEC as well the decision to organize a supplementary election.

However, the state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Ken Emeakayi cautioned the All Progressives Congress (APC) to desist from causing disaffection among members of the PDP and the state working committee of the party.

In an interview with the candidate of APGA, Willie Obiano, he expressed joy over the outcome of the election. The candidate, who spoke to Channels Television in his Aguleri hometown, in Anambra East local government area, further noted that the election was credible.

The Peoples Progressive Alliance candidate while accepting the decision of INEC to hold a supplementary election commended INEC for a display of an improved electoral process which gave room for a hitch-free election. He however bemoaned the level of financial inducement that pervaded the election.

However, the state chairman of PDP in a press briefing in Awka, maintained the party’s acceptance of the election outcome in line with the National Working Committee of the party as announced by Olisa Metuh and pledged the party’s submission to the supplementary election as would be directed by INEC.

Mr. Emeakayi commended all the security agencies in their key role of ensuring maintenance of security and orderliness throughout Anambra state.
