No Administration Has Done Better Than Mine- Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has challenged his critics to compare the achievement of his administration with any other before they criticise saying that his administration has in two years and eight months performed better than any administration past and present in the country.

The president, who was addressing People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts from the north western zone of Nigeria who were in the Presidential Villa on a solidarity visit, said that it is blackmail for anyone to say that he is anti-north, insisting that he was the first to establish nine universities in the north at one time as well as the Almajiri schools to emancipate people from the shackles of poverty.

He decried the challenges of insecurity in the north promising that he will do more for them by the time he gets rid of insurgency in that part of the country.

Channels Television’s State House Correspondent, Chukwuma Onuekwusi reports that the president called on the ministers of state for works, education, mines, agriculture and power to give a bit of their scorecard one by one in the north western zone in line with the transformation agenda of the administration..

A former chairman of the PDP and leader of the delegation, Dr Alero Mohammed reeled out the efforts of the administration and promised to support the president at all times.

He also reports that the president called on them to see  the amalgamation which brought Nigerians together  as a source of unity promising to use the national dialogue to cement the bond.

Meanwhile, some of the politicians in the delegation said the visit was an eye opener to what the Jonathan administration has been doing since its inception.

Speaking to State House Correspondents after the meeting  Mr Mohammed Abacha, the son of late Head of State, General Sanni Abacha, described what is happening in the northern part of the country as unfortunate, calling on those who critcise the administration to be careful because it might be their turn and they will be the ones to be criticised.

On his part, Senator Hamisu Musa said it is unfortunate that many Nigerians feign ignorance of the transformation agenda. He likened what is happening in the political space as a gang up against the administration that is doing well.
