
Agboluaje, a guest on Sunrise Daily, said: “I do not agree that the problem with education in Nigeria is implementation and not policy. The problem is probably 50 or 60 per cent policy. You need to get the policies right before you move to implementation.”
He further stressed that “most problems in many areas of policy are historic” hence there is a need to “sort out those issues” before implementation could be addressed.
On the reason the 6-3-3-4 education system was not sustained, Agboluaje said in most countries, the education policies were well geared towards commerce and industry.
He argued that there was too much emphasis placed on university degrees and hardly any incentives for individuals to learn skills.
