Nigeria’s National Biotechnology Development Agency has appealed to members of the National Assembly to pass the Biosafety law.
At a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, the Director General of the agency, Professor Lucy Ogbadu, decried the non-passage of the bill for the past 13 years which she said would help the nation achieve economic growth, improved agriculture and wealth creation.
She asked members of the National Assembly to emulate other African countries where Biosafety laws had lead their socio-economic transformation.
