The Ondo State government has organised a sensitization programme to commemorate the 2014 World Aids Day.
Governor Olusegun Mimiko, in his address at the programme which was organised by the State Ministry of Health in conjunction with the Ondo State Agency for the Control of AIDS (ODSACA), disclosed that the State Government has been able to reach the vulnerable groups including female sex workers, uniformed men, artisans, the disabled, transporters and students with prevention interventions in Akure South and Ondo West Local Government Areas of the State.
Governor Mimiko, was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Kola Ademujimi, said 510 orphans and vulnerable children affected by the menace are beneficiaries of educational materials.
The State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi at the venue presented some educational materials including textbooks, notebooks, schoolbags and first aid materials to some of the orphans present
