Okrika Attack Was Caused By “Aggrieved” APC Members – PDP Rivers

The Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Rivers state, Ibibia Walter says that the attack in Okrika on Tuesday, during the APC rally was caused by “aggrieved” APC members.

He stated that there has never been a time where APC will hold a meeting in their wards or rally without the mention of Patience Jonathan’s name or speaking ill of her.

Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, Mr. Walter noted that it is not in the pattern of Okrika to have such attacks but there are fractions within the party that have a hand in the attack, adding that its more of an “intra-party than inter party issue”.

Mr. Walter debunked the reports saying that APC was not welcomed to hold rally in Okrika, he said “APC has always been welcomed, while we campaign in ward 1 they are in ward 3, there was no hiccup or problem” .

He further accused an APC member for shooting a PDP member, thereby calling on the police for his “own investigation”, “police come and arrest me do your proper investigation as the operational leader of the PDP in Okrika”.

Mr. Walter stated that there are some APC members holding top positions in the state supporting the PDP, he added that anyone caught in the PDP doing same will be properly investigated and will not be tolerated “this is because PDP does not tolerate anti-party activities”.
