(File) President Muhammadu Buhari exchanges pleasantries with former President Goodluck Jonathan.
A former Military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, confirmed this to State House correspondents, saying that President Goodluck Jonathan has conceded defeat to his opponent, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former military Head of State said that all Nigerians should emulate President Jonathan to ensure peace reigns in the country.
Report says there is calm in the State House as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in the Jonathan administration came in numbers for a scheduled meeting.
The meeting has Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar, Ebitu Ukiwo, Aliko Dangote, John Cardinal Onayikan, and other clergymen in attendance.
General Abubakar has been a key player in the peace committee that orchestrated the peace accord that was signed by the presidential candidates and has the responsibility of ensuring that peace reigns, even after the announcement of the results.
Another member of the peace committee, Ben Obi, said that President Jonathan convened the peace committee to show Nigerians that he is ready at all times to do anything in the interest of the country.
