Nigeria’s first lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has appealed to the Nigerian Army authorities to ensure the prompt payment of entitlements to families of deceased soldiers who lost their lives in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents in the northeast.
Mrs Buhari made the appeal on Wednesday when she visited the 44 Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna to see soldiers on admission who sustained various degrees of injuries in the battle field and are receiving treatment.
The first lady was accompanied by the President of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association, Mrs Umma Buratai and wives of other top military officers.
She commiserated with the wounded soldiers, encouraged them and prayed that God would grant them speedy recovery.
She commended the wounded soldiers for their bravery in the protection of their fatherland and doggedness in maintaining law and order in the troubled northeast and other troubled parts of Nigeria.
She assured them that their efforts would not go in vein now or in the future.
