Kwara State House of Assembly has passed the 2016 budget proposal presented by the State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed.
The Speaker of the State Assembly, Dr. Ali Ahmad, while presiding over the passage, explained that the House raised the budget from 116 billion Naira to 128 billion Naira to achieve minimum of 70 per cent implementation.
He noted that the highest political offense in the constitution is non-implementation of the budget.
Dr. Ahmad gave the assurance of the resolve of the House to ensure total compliance with the budget.
He stressed that whether the budget is implemented or not depends on the quality of oversight functions of the members, with a challenge not to disappoint the people.
