Mile 12: Police Promise Security As Calm Returns To Agiliti

Palpable calm seems to be pervading Agiliti community in Kosofe area in Lagos State after Thursday’s violent attack by hoodlums.

Anxiety has continued to mount over the next action by the hoodlums but to check this there is heavy deployment of armed men to the area.

Channels TV crew monitored activities within Agiliti and it was observed that some level of peace and order have been restored.

In the meantime the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has continued to assure residents of the area that his men and other security operatives will provide maximum security for the people.

In an interview with our correspondent, Gbenga Ashiru, the Lagos State CP urged residents of the area to live in peace and avoid bringing in any form of ethnic coloration into the issue.

CP Owoseni also said that relative peace has returned to the area.

The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode had ordered the immediate closure of Mile 12 market and restriction of movement in the area after violence erupted in Agiliti area of Mile 12 in Lagos State, Nigeria’s south west region.

About 50 suspects were arrested from the scene of the incident.
