Voting Ends In Abia North Rerun Election

Voting has ended in the rerun senatorial elections in Abia North and seven other constituencies.

Our correspondent reports that turn out was impressive and the atmosphere is peaceful.

There was heavy security personnel in the polling areas to ensure the elections are held under adequate security.

Commissioner of Police in the State, Habila Joshak, said officers had been deployed to strategic points within the state to prevent any attempt to smuggle in hoodlums that may want to cause mayhem.

The re-run is taking place in the affected polling units and wards in nine local government areas of the state.
