Lagos Accident: Kano Govt. Receives Bodies Of Nine Students

Hundreds of Kano residents including Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, his deputy and top government officials attended the funeral prayers of nine school children who died in an accident along Ibadan-Lagos expressway.

The students were Kano State’s participants returning from the just concluded 2016 National Art and Drawing Competition.

Buried close to one another, the Governor led a special prayer at the government house for the repose of their souls.

Mr Ganduje said that their sacrifice would not go in vein and their memories would continue to linger on the mind of every citizen of Kano and the entire northern region.

“I particularly feel the pains like any other citizen of Kano State… The memories of these children will continue to linger on our minds and we shall never forget their sacrifice.”

Meanwhile, Governor Ganduje, who met with the parents and teachers of the students, also urged them to religiously accept the will of God, stressing that Government or any other individual has neither power nor resources to avert what happened to the children.

The Government of Kano State and the families of the children have opened a book of condolence and asked members of the public to continue to pray for God’s blessing upon the children.
