The All Progressives Congress (APC) has presented its flag-bearer, Mr Godwin Obaseki, while officially flagging off its governorship campaign ahead of the race for the Edo State seat of power.
This comes after the now APC flag-bearer; Mr Obaseki beat 11 other candidates during primaries to pick the ticket ahead of the September 10 governorship election in Edo State.
The National Chairman of the APC, Mr John Oyegun, presented Godwin Obaseki to the people of Edo State at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, the state capital in south-south Nigeria, where the APC Edo governorship campaign flag-off held.
He asked the people of the state to vote for continuity of the good deeds of the outgoing State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Obaseki promised to prioritise job creation and make the state’s economy less dependent on oil.
Dignitaries present at the event were APC chieftains namely, Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, the governors of Bauchi, Kano and Plateau states among others.
