Saraki Urges Nigerians To Collaborate With F.G To End Recession

The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has called on Nigerians to collaborate with the Federal Government to ensure that the nation emerges from the current economic recession stronger, more united, developed and self reliant.

He made the call in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Yusuph Olaniyonu, marking the nation’s 56th Independence Anniversary.

Saraki commended all Nigerians, especially the nation’s founding fathers, for their contributions that have averted disaster from the nation at every point of her existence when it is threatened by social, political and economic problems.

While expressing regret that in 56 years of existence, Nigeria’s economy still depends on only oil, a situation which created the present economic problems being experienced by the citizenry, Dr. Saraki commended Nigerians for their perseverance, understanding and support in the face of the harsh economic condition.

He added that no single individual can solve the present economic predicament but with collective efforts and sheer political will, Nigerians can push back the high tide of recession confronting the nation.
