Military-Militants-ArepoRemnants of Boko Haram terrorists group attacked troops location at Gashigar, a border area with Niger Republic in northern Borno State, injuring 13 soldiers.

A statement by the spokesman for the Nigerian Army, Colonel Sani Usman, said the attack occurred at about 5.30p.m. local time on Monday.

The statement read: “The troops did their best to defend the location in vain.

“In the process, 13 soldiers sustained injuries while some are still missing in action.

“The temporary setback made the troops to withdraw from the location”.

Colonel Usman stated that the wounded soldiers had been evacuated and that they were receiving treatment.

According to him, efforts are ongoing in search of the missing soldiers and further clearance of the Boko Haram terrorists in the area.
