The Made-in-Aba Products campaign which has taken another positive turn is now showcasing the capability of the state owned polytechnic and its readiness to make waste conversion and disposal equipment locally.

It is part of the government’s efforts to ensure the state relies solely on Aba-made products.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu had reiterated his commitment to stimulating and firing up the innate spirit of ingenuity in all indigenes of Abia State, with the strident and focused campaign to produce and buy made in Aba products to generate jobs and grow the economy of the country.

“My goal and agenda is to make Abia truly the number one state; and SME capital of Nigeria as well as the commercial nerve centre/production hub of Nigeria.

“The equipment that you are seeing here (popularly known in Aba as ASEPA bucket) are all fabricated by the Engineering Department of the Abia State Polytechnic in Aba.

“It is in our best interest, as a state and people, to stop distracting the government and instead support the efforts and drive for made in Aba products,” he pointed out.

Governor Ikpeazu further assured residents that the focus to build Abia State through the promotion and promoting the made-in-Aba products would yield great results.

“It will go a long way to generate the needed revenue to fund some of our critical infrastructure that serve as an enabler to provide the conducive environment for investment and business to thrive, thereby creating wealth and reducing unemployment and over dependency on oil and federal allocation,” the Governor stated.

He further stressed that the campaign of buying and selling Made-in-Aba Product had come to stay.

Other crafts produced also, include desks for primary and secondary school children that will be used in Abia and other states amongst many others.
