The British Prime Minister Theresa May has announced plans to call snap general election on June 8, 2017.
In an unexpected statement at Downing Street, Mrs. May says she is starting the process of calling a vote, because “the country is coming together but Westminster is not.”
According to her, Britain needs certainty, stability and strong leadership following the EU Referendum.
There will however be a common vote on the proposed election tomorrow as the Prime Minister needs the parliament’s backing to hold a vote before 2020.
