FG Denies Paying €2m For Chibok Girls

The Federal Government has debunked claims that €2m was paid as ransom to the terrorist group, Boko Haram for the release of the 82 Chibok girls two weeks ago.

The Special Adviser to the President On Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, said this during a press briefing at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, as part of activities to mark President Buhari’s second year in office.

He also gave the assurance that the military has the capacity to deal with any unrepentant Boko Haram member who has been swapped for the Chibok girls.

Also, at the briefing was the Senior Special Assistant to President on Media, Garba Shehu, who said that Nigerians are happy with the present administration.
