A total of 7,000 delegates drawn from across the country are expected to participate in the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), taking place today (Saturday) in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The delegates are expected to affirm the candidacy of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the party’s sole aspirant.
Ahead of the exercise, the Deputy Chairman of the convention committee and Governor of Borno State, Mr Kashim Shettima, gave an assurance that there would be adequate security for delegates before, during and after the convention.
The committee also promised that the exercise which was earlier rescheduled to commence at 6:00 pm, will be hitch-free.
It is, however, yet to commence.
