Police Dismiss Inspector For 'Shooting And Killing Kolade Johnson'

 

The Nigeria Police has reiterated its commitment to ensure that peace and order is maintained during the supplementary elections on Saturday in Kano State.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Investigations, Anthony Michael who spoke to Channels TV, urged voters to carry out their civic responsibilities as the personnel deployed would work professionally, without fear or favour.

He further explained that the meeting with political stakeholders and party candidates is to implore them to maintain and respect the law.

“Our meeting with the stakeholders is to implore them to maintain peace and respect the law, and assure them that we are here to do our work professionally, without leaning to any side, we are police and our work is to maintain law and order, ensure that those involved are protected. Voters should carry out their franchise without fear of molestation.”

The DIG confirmed that the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has deployed two Assistant Inspector-General of Police, two Commissioner of Police, in the 29 LGA affected by the rerun elections, to supervise election security and ensure a level playing field is provided for all involved.
