Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo in a meeting with the Vice President of the United States of America, Mike Pence, discussed economic ties between both countries.

Both leaders also discussed a partnership to enable investors in Nigeria and the acquisition of arms and ammunition to tackle terrorism.

Professor Osinbajo disclosed this to Channels Television on Wednesday after the meeting was held at the White House in Washington DC.

He added that they both consolidated on previous talks and also focused on how the two countries can work together on the threats to the Sahel region.

“We discussed a wide range of issues from our economy and ways in which investors could participate effectively in the economy. We also talked about security. Ways in which we could work together on some of the threats, especially in the Sahel.

“What we are working on at the moment is cooperation that has been on for a while so the whole point of it is to see how to bring several of those things to fruition.

“We discussed cooperation on the supply of arms and ammunition which the US has worked with us on and we think we are moving in the right direction. They are happy to work with us on it,” Osinbajo said.
