There are conflicting reports trailing the attack on the Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
Some suspected thugs were said to have invaded the facility armed with dangerous weapons on Wednesday.
Channels Television learnt that the thugs scared the doctors and nurses on duty before destroying items worth millions of naira.
One of the health workers who spoke off-camera explained that their union had earlier intended to stage a protest over lack of Personal Protective Equipment against COVID-19.
But an eyewitness says the attack was carried out by angry relatives of a woman in labour who was reportedly denied by medical personnel at the hospital.
