The Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku has assured the people of the state that the problem of insecurity is being tackled with greater zeal and determination to make farming and traveling safe in all parts of the state.

Governor Ishaku gave the assurance when a high-powered delegation of people from the Gassol Local Government Area of the state paid him a thank-you visit on Monday in Jalingo.

The delegation led by the Chief of Mutum-Biyu, Sani Suleiman Duna came to brief the Governor on insecurity in his domain and for the provision of electricity and other amenities to parts of the Local Government Area as well as the appointment of sons and daughters of the area into key Government positions.

The Deputy Governor, Engr Haruna Manu is one of such appointees.

Ishaku urged traditional rulers in the state to assist the government in tackling the insecurity by reawakening the local vigilante group to compliment other security agencies.

He advised them to be conscious about happenings within their domains and to report suspicious visitors to security agencies before such visitors cause harm in their communities.
