The Zamfara State Chapter of Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Wednesday joined their counterparts in other states to protest over the proposed bill to remove the minimum wage from the Exclusive Legislative List to the Concurrent Legislative List.
The protesters submitted their protest letter to the leadership of the State House of Assembly, asking them not to support the bill proposed.
Receiving the letter on behalf of the Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Honourable Musa Bawa said the minimum wage is a yardstick to motivate and encourage the workers.

He said the State Assembly presently has two bills for the workers in the state which includes a bill for a law to provide the establishment of state and local government contributory pension scheme which favours the workers.
