In his remarks, the police commissioner urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money for the betterment of their families.

He prayed to Almighty God to repose the souls of the deceased police officers in paradise, assuring Katsina residents that the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies were unrelenting in their onslaught against terrorists in the state.

The commissioner enjoined members of the communities to release useful information to the security agencies about suspected terrorists or their informants.

“Any information given will be treated with utmost confidentiality, please. I wish to also seek your partnership and cooperation in the ongoing campaign, without which the security agencies cannot achieve the desired results,” he stated.

A total of 27 families/next of kin of 14 slain police officers received the cheques, which are part of the IGP’s Family Welfare Insurance Scheme being given to families of deceased police officers.

Two of the benefiting families, Abutu Umouru and Bilkisu Ma’aruf, thanked the IGP for the welfare package and promised to make good and judicious use of the money given to them.
