Nigeria beat Tunisia 4-0 in the third-place match in the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Friday.

The Flying Eagles bounced back from a narrow loss to The Gambia in the semi-final of the competition and gave their best performance in the competition to dispatch the North Africans.

Coach Ladan Bosso’s boys began the encounter at the Cairo International Stadium in style and deservedly took the lead in the ninth minute from an Ibrahim Muhammed strike.

While Nigeria dominated proceedings, it took the second half for the West Africans to get another goal courtesy of an Ahmed Abdullahi effort. Jude Sunday made it three for his side, just two minutes later following a brilliant solo run.

He then bagged his second goal of the day in the 90th minute to seal the emphatic game for the Flying Eagles.

Senegal will tackle The Gambia in the final of the competition on Saturday.
