The House of Representatives Member-Elect in Abia State, Chris Nkwonta has Congratulated Labour Party (LP) candidate in the 2023 governorship election in the state, Alex Otti on his emergence as Governor-Elect.
He trounced his opponents like Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Enyinnaya Nwafor of the Young Peoples Party (YPP).
Otti scored 175,467, Ahiwe polled 88,529 while Nwafor got 28,972. The LP candidate also won 10 of the 17 local government areas in the state, PDP got six while the YPP got one.

In his Message signed by the Chidi Nwankpa, the Head of Communications and Public Affairs for Chris Nkwonta Campaign Council, Nkwonta said the people of Abia have spoken through the ballot.
“In your years of banking career, you demonstrated high level of capacity for great turnarounds, strategic partnerships, and alliances as a transformational leader,” he stated.
According to him, Abia people are in need of Otti’s proven leadership competencies at this time to move the State towards greater heights and accomplishments…
He also prayed God to grant the incoming governor perfect health, wisdom and insights to fulfill the collective and progressive aspirations of Abians.
