Tinubu Mourns Former Head Of Service Adamu Fika

The Fika Emirate Council in Yobe State announced the death of Adamu Fika CFR on Tuesday.

President Bola Tinubu has expressed grief over the passing of Alhaji Adamu Fika, elder statesman and one-time Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, who died on Tuesday at the age of 90.

This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement on Wednesday.

He said that in mourning the Wazirin Fika, President Tinubu recalled the salient roles he played in nurturing the enduring institution responsible for the articulation and implementation of public policies at a trying time for the Federal Civil Service.

The President said the late Fika’s contributions both as Head of Service and chairman of different civil service reform panels were indelible in the annals of Nigeria’s history.

“Alhaji Adamu Fika’s life of service to Nigeria saw him hold various important positions, before his elevation to the Office of Head of the Civil Service of the Federation; a post he held until his retirement,” the President said.

Condoling with the government and people of Yobe State, President Tinubu said Alhaji Fika left behind a legacy of accomplishments, integrity, passion for service, and commitment worthy of emulation by public servants and other compatriots.

“May Allah forgive his sins and grant him Aljannah Firdaus,” the President prayed.

Channels Television reported that the Fika Emirate Council in Yobe State announced the death of Adamu Fika CFR on Tuesday.

In a statement signed by the acting secretary to the Fika emirate council, Ali Gimba-Fika, the late Waziri died Tuesday night at a residence in Kaduna.

Fika served in 1986 and was also the former permanent secretary of the police affairs department, Ministry of Communication, and Federal Capital Territory.

The late administrator, who holds the highest traditional title of Fika Emirate Council as Waziri, was born in 1933 at Fika, in Yobe State.
