A digital strategist, technology blogger, and content creator Tobi Ayeni has called for the localisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to fully maximise its potential.

Tobi who is the founder of MissTechy said this on Monday’s edition of Channels Television’s The Morning Brief.

“As Nigerians, we are not really localizing AI,” she said.

“There are many areas to which we can localise AI to fit into our context as Nigerians and we would shine,” the digital strategist argued.

One of these areas, she said, is the need to have AI in local Nigerian languages to help people. Tobi argued that this will aid those who are not fluent in their languages.

Cybersecurity, Cybercrimes

Away from AI, the content creator also waded into cybersecurity issues, saying jobs in that area will be in high demand going forward.

The tech blogger has said that the beauty of cybersecurity is that it is easy to learn as anyone who knows how to use tech tools well is a “tech bro” [an informal name for a tech expert].

“Researchers have said that cybersecurity jobs are going to be on the high because of the rate of cybercrime,” the MissTechy founder.

She said Nigerians need to move away from consuming content to solving problems using technology.

According to her, the expected surge in data breaches in the future makes the argument more compelling.
