Katsina Government Relaxes 24-Hour Curfew On Dutsinma LGA

Acting Governor of Katsina State, Faruk Jobe has approved the review of the 24-hour restriction of movement order imposed on Dutsinma Local Government Area and other 33 Local Government Areas of the state.

Jobe granted the review of the Dutsinma curfew after receiving a report of an improved security situation in the area.

He had placed the LGAs on a 7:00 pm to 7:00 am curfew.

The Acting Governor who chaired a meeting of the State Security Council on Monday evening, directed the ban on unusual gatherings and all types of protests to remain imposed throughout the state.

He appreciated the civil manner with which the security agents handled the hoodlums who hijacked the peaceful protest to commit criminal activities.

He also, thanked parents, guardians and community leaders who cautioned their children and youths from joining the bandwagon of the miscreants.

Meanwhile, the State Security Council has announced the arrest of several youths in connection with the recent violence, lootings and vandalisation of public and private property.

Shortly after the Council’s meeting, the Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Barrister Abdullahi Faskari said some of those arrested had already been charged to court for alleged criminal conspiracy, causing public disturbance, vandalisation and theft.

Barrister Faskari in a statement signed on Tuesday by his Director Press, Malam Abdullahi Yar’adua, said the Security Council had once again appealed to people to remain calm and law-abiding, as all hands were on deck to guarantee the safety of lives and property.
