Katsina LG Polls: Buhari Calls For Transparency, Accountability

The former president stressed that these principles are fundamental to earning respect and maintaining political popularity among constituents.

Ahead of the local government elections in Katsina, former president Muhammadu Buhari has called for transparency and accountability. 

Buhari spoke during the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting held on Saturday at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Katsina Government House.

The former president stressed that these principles are fundamental to earning respect and maintaining political popularity among constituents.

On his part, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina urged party stakeholders to canvass for support in their respective local government areas.

Governor Radda stressed the importance of achieving total victory through popular votes while ensuring transparent electoral processes.

He stated that the APC’s focus is on transparent, inclusive, and democratic processes that strengthen the collective democratic experience.

“We are committed to conducting elections that reflect the true will of the people,” Governor Radda said.

Radda while acknowledging Katsina’s rich leadership heritage, cited his leadership journey, including his appointments during the former President Buhari’s administration.

The governor highlighted the current President Bola Tinubu administration’s recognition of Katsina State through ministerial appointments and federal leadership positions.

Earlier in his welcome address, the APC Chairman in the state, Sani Daura, explained that the caucus meeting was designed to solidify the unity within the party.

He thanked former President Buhari and all party stakeholders for their attendance.

Key political figures representing Katsina senatorial districts including Senator Abu Ibrahim, Senator Abdulaziz Yar Adua, Senator Muntari Dandutse, and Senator Nasiru Sani Zangon Daura participated in the critical meeting.
