Despite the operation of Dangote Refinery and two refineries belonging to the Nigerian government resuming operations, an energy expert, Kelvin Emmanuel, says blended Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) commonly known as petrol, from Malta is still being imported into the country.
According to Emmanuel who was a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, the players in the mid and downstream sector along with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) imported 3.8 billion litres of PMS from Malta into Nigeria between October 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024.
He said that as at today, blended Malta PMS is still being imported into Nigeria up to about 180,000mt a month.
