The Kebbi State Government has attributed the criticism of Governor Nasir Idris’s administration to the opposition parties’s shock over the government’s achievements and their attempt to remain relevant in the state’s political landscape.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed, made this statement during a press briefing at the Government House Press Centre in Birnin Kebbi.
According to him, the opposition parties fail to understand Nigeria’s evolving political structure, which requires building and leveraging strategic connections.
He noted that their frequent criticism of the governor’s travels to Abuja and abroad stems from this ignorance.
Ahmed highlighted one of the key benefits of Governor Idris’s frequent trips to Abuja which is securing the revocation of the long-abandoned Koko/Zuru road project.

The road, awarded by the Federal Government five years ago, had seen no progress.
He explained that the governor successfully navigated federal bureaucracy to have the contract revoked and re-awarded to three reputable companies, ensuring quality work and timely completion.
The commissioner urged Kebbi residents to disregard opposition attempts to misrepresent the governor’s travels, emphasizing that such trips are strategic and essential for the state’s progress.
