The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched a technology adoption assessment survey for registered capital market operators, as part of its efforts to enhance innovation and deepen Nigeria’s capital market.

The regulator stated that the initiative aims to evaluate the extent to which advanced technologies are being adopted by capital market operators across the country.

“The technology adoption survey has been developed to assess the level of integration of advanced technologies among registered Capital Market Operators,” the notice read in a notice issued on Wednesday.

The SEC instructed all registered operators to complete the survey by logging into its e-portal using their existing credentials.

It said the survey would remain open for a two-week period, from May 5 to May 20, 2025.

It also advised operators with questions or concerns to contact the Commission via email at [email protected].

SEC had in March announced the suspension of an operator, along with its directors and sponsored individuals from the capital market.

In a statement titled “Additional Enforcement Measures on Erring Capital Market Operators,” it said it was part of its broader efforts in 2025 to crack down on capital market operators it deemed illegal.

The regulator also revoked the registration of another capital market operator, citing regulatory non-compliance and outstanding complaints against the company.
