Gunmen have abducted some passengers in the Okpokwu Local Government Area in Benue State.
The abductors were said to have attacked a commercial bus with registration number 14B-143BN along the Eke axis of the road at about 6:30 pm on Sunday, robbed the passengers, and whisked them away to a bush.

According to eyewitnesses, the passengers were ambushed by the attackers.
A resident in the state, Austin Agada, who happened to be passing by the scene, quickly alerted and mobilised security agents, who rushed to the location to initiate rescue efforts.
He also contacted local youth and vigilance groups from the three villages around Eke to take up surveillance and comb the surrounding bushes in search of the kidnapped victims.
Details of the vehicle and the military personnel managing the rescue operation were also given to an official of the bus company to ensure a coordinated response to the crisis.
As of the time of filing the report, the police have yet to comment on it.
