Boeing said it is preparing to increase production of its 737 Max aircraft as early as October, Bloomberg reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the plans.
Boeing was seen guiding suppliers for the increase, and could increase production as high as 53 jets a month by next year, the Bloomberg report said. The planemaker is seeking to win approval from the U.S. government for the move.
Bloomberg reported that Boeing is also preparing to increase its manufacturing pace again in April and once more in late 2026. Production is expected to increase to 53 jets a month by the end of 2026.
Boeing telegraphed the production increase earlier this year, and it comes amid a flurry of overseas orders for the planemaker.
Airlines in China, Uzbekistan, and Turkey have ordered tens of planes over the past two months, a bulk of them from the 737 line.

U.S. officials were also seen touting a major Chinese order for Boeing during trade talks held in September, although no such order was disclosed so far.
U.S. trade talks with other countries also involved securing orders for Boeing, amid Washington’s focus on increasing U.S. manufacturing and exports.
